A 5-ton central air conditioner typically has a running power of about 5–7 kW, with an instantaneous starting surge of approximately 24–40 kW. However, after installing a soft starter, the starting surge can be reduced to around 8–17 kW.
With a soft starter installed, if the solar system inverter has an output power of 8–12 kW, it can generally start a 5-ton central air conditioner.
The RUiXU Lithi2-16 16kWh power bank has a maximum discharge current of 200A, which can support the operation of a 5-ton central air conditioner. However, to help protect battery lifespan, we recommend using a discharge current of around 100A when possible.
For long-duration operation of a 5-ton central air conditioner, the best configuration is to use two Lithi2-16 power banks.
