Whole-home backup
MIN V3 + APX + SYN 200
For a current-generation residential system that backs up the main service through the SYN transfer equipment.
- 3.8–11.4kW MIN V3
- 5–30kWh APX
- SYN 200-XH-US
Growatt energy storage
Shop modular Growatt APX high-voltage LFP batteries, 5–30kWh battery systems and complete MIN XH-US backup kits. Start with the inverter version: MIN V3 uses SYN for whole-home backup, while MIN V2 uses ATS plus Smart Meter-US for partial-home backup.
Select by application first. Final equipment, firmware, protection and code requirements must be confirmed for the exact project.
Whole-home backup
For a current-generation residential system that backs up the main service through the SYN transfer equipment.
Partial-home backup
For selected backed-up circuits using the V2 accessory path. Do not substitute V3 accessories.
Capacity expansion
For an existing compatible APX system that needs additional capacity or replacement system components.
Platform selection
APX is the current modular high-voltage platform. Existing ARO owners should use the dedicated ARO collection for matched legacy components.

The MIN inverter version determines the correct transfer equipment. Treat the inverter, battery and backup device as one listed system rather than interchangeable parts.
| Application | Required system path | Backup scope | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grid-tied solar now, battery later | MIN XH-US + compatible monitoring/metering | No backup until storage equipment is added | Lower initial cost with a planned storage upgrade |
| Whole-home backup | MIN V3 + APX 5–30kWh + SYN 200-XH-US | Main-service backup, subject to load and service design | Current whole-home residential projects |
| Partial-home backup | MIN V2 + APX + ATS 11400T-US + Smart Meter-US | Selected critical-load circuits | V2 systems and smaller backed-up load panels |
Important: MIN V2 and V3 use different backup accessories. Confirm the last three characters of the inverter serial number and the current Growatt documentation before selecting SYN, ATS or Smart Meter equipment.
APX is Growatt's modular high-voltage residential LFP battery platform for compatible battery-ready inverters. The products on this page cover 5–30kWh systems, battery modules, power/BMS equipment, bases and complete backup kits.
The APX systems listed here scale from 5kWh to 30kWh in 5kWh increments. The exact module count, base, power module and cable set must match the applicable APX and MIN documentation.
Both can operate as grid-tied inverters without a battery. For backup, V3 follows the SYN whole-home path, while V2 follows the ATS plus Smart Meter-US partial-home path. The accessories are not interchangeable.
Check the final three characters of the serial number: units containing “D” are generally V2 and units containing “O” are generally V3. Send Self2Solar a clear serial-number photo if you want confirmation before ordering.
A typical path uses a compatible MIN XH-US V3 inverter, an APX high-voltage battery and SYN 200-XH-US transfer equipment. Final inverter power, battery capacity, service rating and backed-up loads must be engineered for the home.
A V2 partial-home design uses the compatible MIN V2 inverter, APX battery, ATS 11400T-US and Smart Meter-US, with selected critical loads moved to the backed-up panel.
Growatt describes APX as an expandable platform with module-level energy optimization and support for mixed new and older packs in approved configurations. Confirm power-module generation, firmware and installation rules before expanding an existing US system.
No. APX is a high-voltage battery platform, while the SPH products on Self2Solar's low-voltage page use 48V batteries such as ALP. Do not connect high-voltage and low-voltage battery platforms interchangeably.
Certification applies to an exact combination of inverter, battery and backup equipment, not to every product carrying the Growatt name. Verify the model-specific certificate and local permitting requirements before ordering.
Choose a complete kit for a new system when you want a coordinated bill of materials. Buy individual modules or control components only when expanding or servicing an existing system whose model, power module and firmware have been confirmed.
