FAQ

1. How many solar panels can an APsystems EZ1 microinverter support?

The EZ1 has two PV input channels and is designed to connect up to two solar modules. Check the electrical limits for the exact model before selecting panels.

2. How do I connect the APsystems EZ1 microinverter to Wi-Fi?

The EZ1 can be configured through the APsystems app using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, depending on the setup process. If it remains in Direct mode, check the router connection, app permissions, firmware, and whether the inverter has completed commissioning. A Wi-Fi connection alone does not guarantee that the inverter is operating.

3. Does the APsystems EZ1 have built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth?

Yes. The EZ1 includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for commissioning and monitoring through the AP EasyPower app. Remote access requires suitable network connectivity.

4. Can I use the APsystems EZ1 with a balcony solar system?

The EZ1 is discussed by users for small PV installations, including balcony solar. Suitability depends on the model, mounting arrangement, electrical connection, and local regulations. In the United States, check applicable interconnection, permitting, and electrical-code requirements rather than assuming a plug-in installation is automatically permitted.

5. Is the APsystems EZ1 suitable for a DIY solar installation?

The EZ1's compact design may suit small PV projects, but installation still requires correct DC wiring, AC connection, grounding, weather protection, and grid compliance. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and local electrical codes. Have a qualified electrician perform work that requires professional licensing.

6. Is the APsystems EZ1 worth buying for a small solar system?

It may suit a small system when its input specifications, AC output, monitoring functions, and local installation requirements match the project. Compare the total cost with alternative microinverters, including monitoring accessories and installation. Consider expected daytime consumption and export compensation when estimating savings.

7. Can I use 400W, 500W, or 600W solar panels with the EZ1?

Possibly. Panel wattage alone is insufficient to determine compatibility. Check Voc, Vmp, Imp, Isc, and the manufacturer’s permitted module-power range for the specific inverter.

8. Is the APsystems EZ1 suitable for a conventional rooftop solar installation?

The EZ1 is primarily positioned for small-scale DIY and portable solar applications. For a conventional rooftop array, compare APsystems’ rooftop microinverter products and follow local permitting and installation requirements.

9. Can the APsystems EZ1 prevent solar power from being exported to the grid?

APsystems lists a compatible APmeter accessory for zero-export control. Check supported models, system configuration, and setup requirements before relying on export limiting.

10. Does the APsystems EZ1 require an ECU gateway?

The EZ1 includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so a separate ECU is not required for its basic direct connectivity and app monitoring. Confirm any additional system-level monitoring requirements.

11. Can the APsystems EZ1 prevent solar power from being exported to the grid?

APsystems lists a compatible APmeter accessory for zero-export control. Check supported models, system configuration, and setup requirements before relying on export limiting.
